That's All Folks

This course has taught me a lot of things. I understood that once again when  I was in an interview (It was for Career Planning and Development Course, it wasn't a real one) and was asked how I can integrate my teaching to technology. I learned how to use technology properly when it comes to education. The world is changing, we develop day by day, and our educations need to change as well. If we want to achieve things in education, we need to consider every aspect. We need to learn about new teaching methods as well as new technologies. That's why this course is that important, I realized that. This is the last post I'm writing, there will not be anymore. (At least, for now. I'm not sure what will happen to this blog.) It was a good adventure although there were some problems on the way here. I'm glad to have taken this course and I appreciate our teacher's effort. I hope I can be a great teacher with these things I've learned. Teaching is a really hard thin

Technology-Enhanced Project

In this project, Oğuz and I, again, worked together to make another informative project, but this time we weren't the ones who are going to do the project. We decided on a subject in the coursebook which is making a presentation about ancient civilizations in Anatolia. We put resources for students to learn about those ancient civilizations so that they can be prepared properly. We used a website named Create WebQuest  to make everything adjusted and tidy. There are several sections that students are supposed to read: Introduction, Task, Process, Evaluation. We found those resources from the Internet. In this case, Wikipedia , World History Encyclopedia , YouTube , and Study.com  helped a lot. We used information on the Internet. We aimed to make students broaden their minds. While completing these kinds of tasks students can learn about the Internet as well as how to achieve a piece of information in the best way. Our Work

Exploring the World

In this project of ours, Oğuz and I decided to have an adventure in Japan. Our work includes landmarks, places, an old museum, and a festival in Japan. Japan is an Asian country, so it's a different experience to see their culture and it is also a country that I want to visit for a long time. Our project aims to teach lots of things about Japanese culture and places in Japan to students. QR codes are used so that those pages can be used in a brochure as well. Augmented reality is something that can be used in classes. It is quite helpful not only for exploring other countries like our project, but also for other courses such as History, Geology, Biology, etc. It makes learning even more fun. In this way, every student gets to view everywhere around the world as well as other items and materials. In the future, it could be used more often. It was hard to find 3D materials as they are not very common, but in the end, we are satisfied with our work. The project was made in Canva  and

Flipped Grammar Video

We, Oğuz and I, once again made a video, but this time it is on grammar. We wanted to talk about Passive Voice in this project. It was actually less fun when compared to the flipped vocabulary video as working with words and pictures is more amusing. In this project, we did not put any pictures, unfortunately, but I believe we made a good job. We used Canva for its templates and editing and we also worked with various softwares which are Shotcut and Vegas Pro . The worksheet is made with Canva as well. Recording our voices can be sometimes annoying because it's hard to make them perfect on the first try. And there's a fact that reading something long out loud and recording our voices is stressful as we might fail to do it in one go. I believe it can be useful for students. Some can learn by reading easily and some can do so by listening, and this project provides both. Although it can be developed better, I think it's good enough. I recorded my voice with my laptop and as

Flipped Vocabulary Teaching Video

My friend Oğuz Öksüz and I decided to teach about occupations in this project and we used Canva's templates to make a suitable video on it (Also, we used Canva to design a work sheet). I really liked the idea and think it would be fairly beneficial to students from all grades. We included music, recordings of us reading the sentences out loud, and pictures. In this way, all kinds of learners can acquire the information with ease. We also had problems, for instance, voice recordings as expected. Since we are unable to achieve professional items, recording may have poor quality. But in the end, we could make it better and we managed to combine all the pieces and finished our work.  We shared the works required for this project and gave our thoughts on the subject to one another. Here are the links to the items we used for this project: Canva For editing Shotcut and Sony Vegas And I recorded my voice using my smartphone. Oğuz Öksüz Occupations Project and Work Sheet:

Another Step

After working on this kind of project, I realized how hard to make something qualified. It takes a lot of effort to come up with the right idea even though it is easy to put all of them together. But, it's not bad nor is it boring. In contrast, dreaming about students who take advantage of what I did for them and seeing them learning and having fun is a completely different experience. Oğuz and I worked on a sheet where students can learn basic conjunctions, which are crucial for making sentences. We talked about SkeLL in this project to tell students where they can do their researches and see examples. Finally, we gave a couple of tasks for students to practice. THE END BUT ALSO A START

As I mentioned before while doing one of the tasks, I took that kind of course in the first semester of the college. Admittedly, I liked the context of the whole course. Same as before, while learning lots of things I actually had fun doing all those things while thinking all the things we did would help both us and our potential students. Technology and education was always a thing that must not be seperated, in my opinion. This semester, I also experienced that. This course helped a lot. If I have to choose one task that was completed during this course, I will say making a Wiki page is my favorite. Not only we have the opportunity to share our ideas on our favorite books, but we can also discover our new potential favorite books by looking at the others' work. I cannot mention the task which is my least favorite since I don't hate any of them as they are really helpful in classes. Finally, the course is sufficiently useful and beneficial not just for the students who learn
